In addition to these “Coups de coeur”, you can make Comments.

A mark on 6 may seem a little bit restrictive, so members of All-Vacation-Exchange can attach a short text justifying the numbers of “Coups de coeur” allotted and summarizing the conditions of Exchange or House-sitting.


When selecting an advert you can read in “Comments” of the descriptive, all comments left by members who have already concluded an agreement with this listing.

When and how can you give «Coups de coeur» All-Vacation-Exchange?

The «Coups de coeur» and the comment are given after the exchange or the Home caretaking.


Once you are back home, you just have to go back to the advert of your correspondent All Vacation Exchange.


At the bottom of the page of this advert you will find a space “Evaluation after the exchange”. Then you can choose from 0 to 6 «Coups de coeur» to allot, leave your comment and click on “Give your Coups de coeur” to record your evaluation.

What are «E-mail alerts» used for?

It is a very valuable service for all members who don’t have time to be connected on the site to discover the new listings and do research.


Once your e-mails alerts configured for each one of your ads, you’ll get directly in your e-mails the new offers corresponding to your profile of Exchange or House-sitting which may suit you.

How should I configure my « E-mail alerts »?

As a member of All-Vacation-exchange, enter your login on the site to connect you. Then click on “My e-mail alerts” and you choose on which type of listing you wish to be warned.


Then just enter your dates of availability and / or destination and then register the creation of an e-mail alert. Of course you have access 24 hours/24 to change or delete your criteria of alerts if your dates and / or your destinations have changed or if you have already concluded an agreement.

Which is the principle of the Vacation Exchange: home, boat and campervan?

This formula is based on the exchange of your property with another property belonging to a member of this website, for your holidays that makes you save the cost of rental.


With All-Vacation-Exchange the possibilities of exchanges are multiplied! You can exchange your house, your boat and/or your campervan and, in return, you choose to spend your holidays in the house, in the campervan or in the boat of your correspondent.


If the exchange “home for home” or “boat for boat” is a common formula, All-Vacation-Exchange is the first website where you can cross the different types of exchanges: your house for a campervan, your boat for a house, or your campervan for a boat!


Your membership being valid during 12 months (a whole year), up to you to imagine and to organize several plans of vacation: why not a chalet this winter, a campervan in spring and a boat for next summer?


The All-Vacation-Exchange exchanges being based on the offer, the more you will create listings for each of your properties and the more you will have chances to receive several propositions of exchange and to conclude an agreement for each of your projects!

Why should I exchange my home, my boat or my campervan?

We think about several reasons, but you can discover some more…


Financial Economy: With regard to a rent, you can save a lot of money by exchanging your property. Thanks to the exchange, you do not have to pay for the use of another boat for example and your vacation budget is reduced to the mere cost of transportation you need to reach the boat you have chosen.


Save time: If your passion is to cross the landscapes on board of your campervan, thanks to an exchange with another campervan abroad you save a lot of kilometres and time to take advantage completely of the circuit which you planned in this country.


Gain comfort: In addition to financial benefits, you are going to enjoy all the comfort. These houses, boats or campervans belong to private individuals who fitted out them for their well-being; they are much better equipped and more "human" than those dedicated to the rent. You’ll feel like a special guest, because your exchange partners have the same demands and the same expectations as you.


Friendly meetings: The planning of your vacation exchange will also be for you the moment to appreciate the communication with your correspondents. You will enjoy sharing your experience of the campervan or the boat, describing the attractions of your house and its surroundings, supplying advice and recommendations and savoring in return the description of your future holiday resort.

Must the exchanged properties be identical?

The exchange being based on a mutual preliminary agreement between two owners, then EVERYTHING IS POSSIBLE if the destination, the property and its comfort are suitable to both parties.


It is also to you, when choosing the offers, in particular among the listings of boats or campervans, to select those that you know you will be able to pilot or drive. Your vacation will be more successful and reassuring.

Must the exchange take place at the same time?

There is no compulsory principle. If you own several properties or if you have several plans of vacation and weekends, it is possible for example that you lend your campervan for Easter holidays and that you take advantage of the house of your correspondent in summertime.


The most important, when you have found a possible exchange, is to take the time to specify all the modalities of the exchange in the Questionnaire Prior to the Agreement and to the Contract of Exchange which is co-signed by your correspondent. In the same way, your correspondent send you a preliminary questionnaire concerning his/her property that you will use (Documents to download from the page "By your side" and available to members having created at least one listing online).


The main advantage of an exchange made at non-simultaneous dates is to be able to welcome each other alternately and to get to know each other better in a friendly way.
If you exchange your boat, then you can familiarize your correspondent with the on-board instrumentations and the wings, maybe even sail a few hours together and of course point out your favourites!

Is the navigation compulsory for a boat exchange?

Of course not! A boat dock may also be regarded as a perfectly livable « pied-à-terre »! You can calculate the number of days of sailing and the number of days that your boat stays in the harbour! Therefore, with All-Vacation-Exchange, you can choose to exchange your boat; this one must remain dockside, or try to find a dockside boat in a harbour which attracts you.

What are the risks of exchanging my home, my boat or my campervan?

You can leave with peace of mind if you get organized beforehand, because there are several parameters allowing you to secure the transaction in each stage of preparation for the exchange.


As a first step, you will learn how to know your partners by the exchanges of correspondences that you are going to create with them (letters, e-mails, telephone) to get additional and necessary information.


As of correspondence, more personal links will create between you; a relationship of trust will arise spontaneously. Note that your correspondents have the same concerns as you; therefore everything will be made on both sides to improve exchange at the farthest. In case of doubts with your correspondents, it is useless to continue because you can then choose other advertisers. So, before concluding, do not hesitate to ask for a maximum of information on the property.


In a second time, each party downloads, prints and fills in the Questionnaire Prior to the Agreement and to the Contract of Exchange concerning the exchanged property and sends this document to his/her correspondent who completes it at his turn. Thanks to these documents all the modalities of the exchange will be specified and you can go to the final step of the signature of the Amicable Contracts of Exchange (Documents to download from the page "By your side" and available to members having created at least one listing online).


At the time of the exchange, that it is postponed or simultaneous, each owner welcomes his/her correspondent according to the clauses agreed for the delivery of keys.

What does my insurer think of it?

This is an opportunity to review your insurance contract! Depending on the exchange you want, please check the terms of your insurance contract, guarantees and responsibilities in relation to yourself and the people travelling with you.


In any case, we advise you to contact your insurer to exchange with the peace of mind for both your property as if you lent it to a friend, as to give and introduce all guarantees of insurance to your correspondents.


When preparing your exchange, you can also agree with your correspondents on the remittance of the checks of deposit, sum of which corresponds to the respective frankness of each insurance or an additional insurance to be signed.

How much does it cost?

The amount of the registration is free for the moment. Once you’re registered, your membership is valid during 365 days.
During these 365 days, you can create as many listings as you need and conclude as many agreements of Vacation Exchanges as you like.


Your registration also allows you to get to other services from All-Vacation-Exchange like: House-sitting, Linguistic exchange without any additional cost.

Exchange your home, your boat or your campervan step by step

1 - Register in All-Vacation-Exchange:


Click on «Registration» on the home page and complete all required fields on the form. Choose a username and a password to preserve your identity. Make sure that you register an e-mail address you use regularly.


Once the form is registered, you’ll get an e-mail a few minutes later. Open it and click on the link to validate your registration and open your account. Clicking on this link you can immediately log in as a member.


2 – Create a listing to exchange your property:


Go back to the homepage, enter your ID – username and password - and click on "Login”.


Click on «My account» and choose the type of listing that you want to deposit. To you to fill the various compulsory fields.


Thanks to the All-Vacation-Exchange website, you can describe your property more accurately in the unlimited area “Free Extra Text”.


Save this first part and then register your availability. Except when your departure dates are accurate, leave a very wide range of dates in order to conclude several exchanges according to your holidays or weekends, knowing that you can indicate later on several more precise dates of availability for the same listing.


Finally you can upload photos or drawings of your property (one or several images jpg, JPEG or gif whose total weight is limited to 600 Kb by listing).
To complete your listing, click on "Save and end the check in".


You have access 24 hours to your listing. Don’t hesitate to complete the columns, further describe or illustrate your proposal for exchange, and modify all the recent changes (dates of availability, new equipment…).


3 – Look for exchange offers:


Once logged into the website, either you click on the blue tab “VACATION EXCHANGE” at the top of the homepage to see the available offers, either you use the search engine in “Looking for a listing?” on the right side by writing your wishes.


Interested in an offer? Then click on «more information» of the summary listing in order to see the property details.


4 – Contact your correspondents:


If your offer matches your criteria of exchange, then click on «Contact the member» at the bottom page of the listing.
WARNING: to contact another owner, you must have yourself created at least one listing!


A new page displays and the All-Vacation-Exchange website will take care of the electronic mails. It’s time to send your proposal to exchange indicating to your correspondent the number of your own listing.


Actually your correspondent’s e-mail address is not displayed in order to ensure the privacy of our members. On the contrary your address appears on the sent message and your correspondent will answer you directly on your e-mail (If he is courteous and respects the “""Terms and Conditions of use""”).


Therefore the connection is established between you two and the preparation of the exchange can start.


5 - Prepare and finalize the exchange contract:


When you exchange your property with strangers, you often feel fear and questionings (especially for a first exchange). It’s perfectly normal…and human! The solution and guarantee of a successful exchange, without any surprises is the COMMUNICATION.


Use all the means at your disposal (Internet, e-mail or postal mail, telephone…) to get all the answers to your questions. Besides, it is a way to get to know each other better and to consider the exchange in a more peaceful, even friendly climate.


To simplify this important step of presentation between members, we provide a Questionnaire Prior to the Contract of Exchange specific to the property that you exchange (Document to download from the page "By your side" and available to members having created at least one listing online).


You’re still sceptical? It is normal because you like your property! So, with diplomacy, make sure that your correspondent, his/her property and insurances are available. And before asking for them, you can always send copies of your passport or identity card, your certificate of property, the insurance contracts, licenses…


Amicable Contract of Exchange All-Vacation-Exchange: To make easier your transaction, All-Vacation-Exchange has established a standard contract which summarizes the important points agreed for each specific exchange and contains the signatures of both parts. This document has no juridical value but it reinforces the commitments taken by each party (Document to download from the page "By your side" and available to members having created at least one listing online).

House-sitting

What does the house-sitting consist in?

Home caretaking or house-sitting consists in going on holiday with peace of mind, knowing that your residence is occupied by reliable people. You have plans for weekends, renting holidays or in your family but you don’t know who could take care of your plants? Your pet is not welcome wherever you go? House-sitting is the solution to your problem. In addition, an inhabited house will discourage possible “unwanted visitors” who would spoil your return.


Services requested to the caretaker or house-sitter are little constraining and consist in occupying and living normally in a house while the owners are away: presence in the evening and at night in the house ; respect of entrusted places and security instructions ; watering of plants and flowers ; care of pets ; maintenance of the rooms occupied by the house-sitter; taking or forwarding of postal mail.

Why should I have my home guarded?

The advantages to have your house guarded when you’re away are numerous in terms of safety, welfare and economy. You can leave calmly because people that you trust and that you will have taken time to get to know are going to take care of your home.


Security: physical presence in your house, shutters opened in the daytime, lights switched on at night, mail collected, orderly garbage cans, controlled electric devices, prevent the consequences of a frost or a heat wave...


Well-being: surveillance of your house, flowers and plants watered, maintained garden, pets fed and been looked after in their usual environment, ventilated and cleaned house…


Economy: the house-sitting being an exchange of services between individuals, most of the time it is made for free. Yet, a financial contribution may be requested by the caretaker according to the returned services or by the owner according to services offered.


Serenity when departing and returning__: you save time when you leave (no shutters or gates to close…) and your house will be ready when you’ll get back (the accommodation is ventilated, clean, heated if needed), no animals or plants to fetch in your family or neighbourhood).

Why should I guard a house?

The main reasons are the ability to discover new areas, return services, being with animals, make new acquaintances, change of environment… just for a weekend or holiday. If you’re lucky enough, you’ll be able to collect the fruits of the orchard and the vegetables from the garden during your stay!

Can the house-sitter go away during his stay?

The person in charge of the accommodation calls on a guard’s services to know that his house is occupied when he’s away and the animals daily fed and well-kept. The main rule is therefore that there is no timetable during the day but the guard agrees to sleep every night in the entrusted accommodation. Any planned absences must be specified in the Contract of House-sitting signed by the owner and the house-sitter.

Can all animals be taken care of?

For obvious security reasons, we only advise the owners of dogs of attack against leaving their animal on guard to a stranger, and possible guards against accepting the load of it! On the other hand, there is no worry for the carnivorous plants!!!


Taking care of a cat or parakeets is not a problem, but there may be adverts mentioning a hen house, a meadow with sheep, a donkey, or even a horse! The guards are neither professional of the breeding, nor vets. Thus, during the preparation of the guarding, the guard should make sure of the type of tasks that are requested and also check their feasibility. Meanwhile, the owner of the animals ought to ask the guard all the guarantees necessary for the required care.

Can a tenant keep his house?

If you rent an accommodation, the first thing to do is to read the clauses of your lease again and your insurance contract. As a general rule, a free of charge house-sitting is authorized because you don’t sub rent your house. However, we advise you to inform your owner about it, stating all the guarantees you took towards the caretaker and the interest he could find there knowing that his property is occupied for a few days (avoiding human and natural damage).

Do I have to leave the whole house at the house-sitter’s disposal?

There are no rules. Depending on the size and the number of the rooms in your accommodation, you may decide to block up part of it. The most important thing is to leave to the caretaker an accommodation in accordance with the description you gave him, for him to be able to welcome all the people who will come with him. Yet, you should think of the accessibility to those locked rooms in the event of rupture of water pipeline or electric problem.

What should you do if a cleaning lady or a gardener is regularly employed?

It is not a problem if you have informed the house-sitter beforehand. If you talk to each other, you’ll be able to decide whether you maintain the hours or not (this could be an additional comfort for the future caretaker), the methods of payment: who pays and what are the fees of these services?

Do we necessarily have to meet each other on arrival and departure?

It is obviously preferable, but it won’t always be possible, everybody has obligations and the house-sitters may not be there on the owners’ departure or they may have already left when they’ll get back. Then again, you just have to specify the dates and if you’re not there, you will have to agree on the handing-over of the keys (sent by mail or given to a neighbour…) and write down everything you would have liked to specify if you had met them.

What does my insurer think of it?

Take the time to read again your insurance contract!


In any case, we advise you to contact your insurer in order to carry out this caretaking the mind at ease, for your accommodation as if you lend it to a friend, and also to offer and present all the guarantees to keep a house.


During the preparation of the Agreement and Contract of House-sitting, the person in charge of the house to be kept can eventually agree with the house-sitter on the principle of a deposit check whose amount corresponds to the excess from the house insurance.

How much does it cost?

Once you’re registered, the access to All-Vacation-exchange members is valid during 365 days. The registration costs € 39.00 (thirty-nine Euros).

You can then get in touch with the other members if you’re looking for a guard for your housing, or on the contrary if you are available to guard another housing. The fact of being a member of All-Vacation-Exchange site enables you to register as many listings as necessary if ever you have several houses or if you wish to be a house-sitter at one time and have your house guarded at another time of the year.


House-sitting is usually free between individuals. However, they may agree on a financial counterpart in exchange for returned services (Be careful, a tenant does not have the right to sub-let his/her housing according to the clauses of the majority of rental leases).


Your registration also allows you to get to other services from All-Vacation-Exchange, like: Boat exchanges, Home exchanges, Campervan/Motorhome exchanges and Linguistic youth exchanges without any additional cost.

Except when your departure dates are accurate, leave a very wide range of dates in order to conclude several exchanges according to your holidays or weekends, knowing that you can indicate later on several more precise dates of availability for the same advert.


Complete the registration according to two options:

  • Click on “Submit” to post your photos immediately
  • Or click on “Save and end the check in” if you wish to illustrate your ad later.


From your computer you can upload photos or drawings (one or several pictures jpg, jpeg or gif whose total weight is limited to 600Kb per ad).


You have access 24 hours to your advert. Don’t hesitate to complete the columns, further describe or illustrate your proposal to exchange, and modify all the recent changes (dates of availability, new equipment…).

Go back to the home page, enter your ID –username and password- and click on “Log-in


Click on «My account», and then on «Create a listing to offer your sitting services». Fill in the various compulsory fields. Thanks to the All-Vacation-Exchange site, you can describe yourself more accurately in the unlimited space “Personal Information” and upload photos.


Save this first part and then register your availability. Except when your departure dates are accurate, leave a very wide range of dates in order to conclude several exchanges according to your holidays or weekends, knowing that you can indicate later on several more precise dates of availability for the same advert.


Complete the registration of your availability by clicking on “Save and end the check in”.


You have access 24 hours/24 to your listing. Don’t hesitate to supplement its headings in order to make it more precise and more attractive.


4 – Look for house-sitters or houses to be guarded:


Once logged into the site, either you click on the orange tab “HOUSE-SITTING” at the top of the home page to check the available offers, either you use the search engine in “Looking for a listing?” in the right of the screen by writing your wishes.


Interested in an offer? Then click on «more information» in the ad in order to know all its specifications.


5 – Contact your correspondents:


If your offer matches your criteria of exchange, then click on «Contact the member» at the bottom page of the ad.

Is the payment safe ?

Transactions on the site All Vacation Exchange are secured by the payment system Ogone. All information exchanged to process the payment is encoded using SSL. These data can be neither detected nor intercepted or used by other people. They are not kept either on our computer systems.
